Trailer released for Travis Barker documentary “Louder Than Fear”
The first trailer for the documentary “Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear” has been released, offering a look at the life and career of the Blink-182 drummer. The film will premiere on August 13 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the United States, as well as on Disney+ internationally.
The documentary explores Travis Barker’s personal and professional journey, including the devastating 2008 plane crash that nearly took his life. Barker was one of only two survivors of the accident, which claimed the lives of his assistant Chris “Lil Chris” Baker, security guard Charles “Che” Still, and the aircraft’s pilot and co-pilot. Barker and his friend DJ AM survived but suffered severe burns, while DJ AM was found dead in his New York apartment a year later.
Throughout the film, Barker opens up about the aftermath of the tragedy, his recovery, and his return to music. The documentary features interviews with his Blink-182 bandmates Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge, as well as appearances by Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee and late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.
The world premiere of “Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear” took place in June 2026 at the Tribeca Festival, followed by a special conversation with Barker after the screening.
The film goes beyond the musician’s success story, focusing on his struggles with physical pain, grief, and rebuilding his life after a traumatic experience. It presents a portrait of the person behind the tattoos, fame, and stage persona.
The documentary was directed by Justin Krook and Michael Dwyer, with Matthew Weaver and Nick Stern serving as producers. Lawrence Vavra and John Janick are executive producers.
In addition to his work with Blink-182, Travis Barker is known for his collaborations across multiple genres. He has been involved in projects including Transplants, +44, Box Car Racer, and Goldfinger, and has worked with artists such as Avril Lavigne and Machine Gun Kelly.
Following the 2008 plane crash, Barker suffered burns to around 65% of his body, spent weeks hospitalized, and underwent numerous surgeries. He later shared his story in his autobiography “Can I Say: Living Large, Cheating Death, and Drums, Drums, Drums.”
Beyond music, Barker has also developed several business ventures, including the clothing brand Famous Stars and Straps and record labels LaSalle Records and DTA Records.
