Madonna and Kylie Minogue release first joint single “Love Sensation (Afterhours Mix)”
Madonna and Kylie Minogue have released their first-ever official collaboration, a new version of the song “Love Sensation (Afterhours Mix)”. The track arrived on August 7 via Warner Records and is available in two versions: the extended Afterhours Mix and the radio edit Afterhours Radio Edit.
Both versions were produced by Stuart Price, Madonna’s longtime collaborator. The song is officially credited to both artists rather than featuring one as a guest performer, allowing the release to count toward the charts for both singers.
The collaboration follows months of speculation about a possible joint project. In May, Kylie Minogue told Los Angeles Times that she was not part of Madonna’s upcoming album “Confessions II”. It later became clear that while she was not featured on the album, the two artists had prepared a separate standalone release.
The collaboration was officially unveiled on August 1, when Madonna invited Kylie Minogue onstage during her Confessions club event at AFAS Live as part of WorldPride Amsterdam. The two performed the remix live for the first time in front of the audience. During the same event, Madonna also performed “Sorry” live for the first time since 2008.
The “Afterhours Radio Edit” keeps much of the original arrangement, highlighting the combination of Madonna’s and Kylie’s vocals. The longer “Afterhours Mix” offers a darker, dancefloor-focused interpretation of the track.
The release continues Madonna’s new “Confessions II” era and follows the success of the original version of “Love Sensation”, which recently reached No. 1 on the Billboard Dance Airplay chart.
Although this marks their first official recorded collaboration, Madonna and Kylie have shared a creative connection for years. They first appeared together on stage in 2014 during Madonna’s Celebration Tour in Los Angeles, performing Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” and Kylie’s “Can’t Get You Out of My Head.” In June 2026, they reunited for the BBC special “Madonna & Graham.”
The single is also being released on CD in three collectible editions featuring pink, blue, and purple artwork.
