Kamelot Release 'Ashen World' Featuring Ignacia Fernández, Miss World Chile
Symphonic metal veterans Kamelot have shared the music video for “Ashen World, ” the first single from their upcoming album “Dark Asylum, ” due out August 28 via Napalm Records. The track offers the first glimpse into RavenHill Asylum, the setting at the heart of the album’s concept.
The song features Ignacia Fernández, frontwoman of Decessus and reigning Miss World Chile 2025. Founding guitarist Thomas Youngblood said “Ashen World” captures the moment of standing at the crossroads between darkness and hope, calling it classic Kamelot at its core while opening new doors for the band’s sound. Vocalist Tommy Karevik added that the song is a deep dive into the topography of the human mind, exploring its valleys, peaks and the void in between.
Alongside Fernández, “Dark Asylum” features guest appearances from Avantasia mastermind Tobias Sammet, Eluveitie’s Lea-Sophie Fischer, Visions of Atlantis' Clémentine Delauney, as well as Rannveig Sif Sigurðardóttir, Sólveig Sara Leupold and Billy King. Longtime Kamelot producer Sascha Paeth returns to helm the record, with Jacob Hansen handling mixing and mastering.
The album marks Kamelot’s fifteenth studio release and will arrive in multiple formats, including limited vinyl editions with a 24-page booklet. The band will support the release this fall with the Dark Asylum World Tour, spanning North America and Europe.
