Royale Lynn Drops New Single “Altar, ” First Release Since Debut Album “Black Magic”

Canadian-born, Nashville-based artist Royale Lynn — known for blending metal, pop, and country — has released her new single and music video “Altar, ” her first new material since her debut album “Black Magic” (2025). The track is co-written with Cody Quistad of Wage War, with the video directed by Maya Sassoon.

Sonically, “Altar” deepens the dark-pop elements introduced on fan-favorite “Wtch”: soaring vocals collide with thunderous synth-driven breakdowns, anchored by a declaration of devotion and self-worth. As Lynn puts it, the song’s central message is that “devotion is choosing you in every version of reality.” The video moves through a series of striking archetypal vignettes exploring femininity and desire, with transformative imagery that reflects the many layers of the artist’s identity.

“Black Magic”, released in 2025 via Epitaph Records, drew praise from Billboard, Loudwire and Revolver. Standout singles included “Death Wish” featuring Danny Worsnop (Asking Alexandria), which reached No. 27 on the rock radio chart; “Inside Out, ” spotlighted on a Times Square billboard by Amazon Music; and “Greed, ” which served as the official track for WWE Summer Slam 2025. To date, Royale Lynn has surpassed 135 million global streams and built a following of over 1.5 million across social media, performing at Louder Than Life, Welcome To Rockville and Aftershock, and sharing stages with Disturbed, Skillet, Seether and Asking Alexandria. She kicks off her “Royale Pain In The A$$” tour on July 9, opening for Memphis May Fire before launching her own headline run on July 16.
