Alissa White-Gluz Can’t Believe No One Leaked Her DragonForce News Before the Announcement
Vocalist Alissa White-Gluz has admitted she was genuinely surprised that her move to DragonForce didn’t leak before the official announcement — even though she and the band’s members had been spotted together in public for months. “We were walking around together, ” she told Chaoszine. “I mean, people took photos of us together for months already. We were surprised that nobody knew!”
White-Gluz officially announced her place in the British power metal band in May 2026, taking on a co-vocalist role alongside longtime frontman Marc Hudson. She made her live debut with DragonForce at Welcome To Rockville festival in June, stepping in while Hudson was absent. This autumn, she will join the band on a North American tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of fan-favourite album “Inhuman Rampage”, running from November 13 in San Diego to December 13 at The Wiltern in Los Angeles. No new music has been released with White-Gluz as a full-time member yet, though she did appear on a reimagined version of the band’s track “Burning Heart” last year.
In the interview, White-Gluz also praised the working dynamic inside DragonForce, noting the band’s deep involvement in the details of their live show: guitarist Sam Totman builds the stage sets, while Herman Li handles all the technical production. “Everybody’s super involved, ” she said, adding that her background in theatre — where she worked as a stage manager and set designer — makes her feel right at home. DragonForce is, however, just one of several active projects: White-Gluz calls power trio Blue Medusa (with guitarists Alyssa Day and Dani Sophia) her main focus, with singles “Checkmate” and “Flying Monkey” already out and a debut solo album in the works. She left Arch Enemy in November 2025; the Swedish band has since continued with new singer Lauren Hart.
