Airbourne Share “Kid In A Candy Store, ” Fourth Single From Upcoming Self-Titled Album

Australian hard rockers Airbourne have released their new single “Kid In A Candy Store, ” the fourth track previewed from their forthcoming self-titled album “Airbourne, ” due August 28 via Spinefarm Records. The track is produced by Brian Howes (who helmed 2013's “Black Dog Barking”), mixed by Zakk Cervini (Bring Me The Horizon, Architects, Evanescence) and mastered by the legendary Ted Jensen.

The band describes “Kid In A Candy Store” as a classic rite-of-passage anthem cut from the same battle-jacket cloth as AC/DC’s “Whole Lotta Rosie” — the same raw energy, the same uncompromising spirit. It’s the fourth in a series of singles that began with “Gutsy” in spring 2025, continued with “Christmas Bonus” in November, and peaked with “Alive After Death (Last Plane Out), ” the album’s lead single and its first accompanying video.

Recording “Airbourne” took six years and, by the band’s own account, is the most ambitious undertaking of their career. The album was cut at Music Farm Studios, a studio hidden in the jungle of southeastern Australia, where the band battled tropical storms, flash flooding, potentially lethal wildlife, and a temperamental vintage tape machine. “Mutt” Lange and Bryan Adams contributed to the writing on a handful of tracks, with lyricist Vick Wright also joining the sessions. Recordings ran through the original Neve console from Albert Studios 1 in Sydney — the same desk used by AC/DC, Rose Tattoo and The Angels. The album was announced in a one-of-a-kind fashion: through an open letter from Joel O’Keeffe to the late Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead, honouring the man who once told them to make music their roadies would love, because nobody else listens more.
