Bad Wolves Unveil New Vocalist Sara “Killboy” Skinner

American alt-metal band Bad Wolves has officially announced Sara “Killboy” Skinner as their new vocalist, alongside the release of their single and music video “Paint It Red, ” the group’s first release of 2026, out via Better Noise Music.

Drummer and founding member John Boecklin said the band wasn’t looking for someone to simply fill a vacancy, but for an artist who could push Bad Wolves into its next chapter. He noted that Skinner’s voice and presence convinced him immediately. Killboy herself described “Paint It Red” as a song about being unafraid to tear everything down and start over, as many times as it takes. Skinner becomes the band’s third vocalist, following the mid-2025 departure of Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz, who went on to join Falling in Reverse. Before that, original frontman Tommy Vext left the band in 2021. The current lineup includes Boecklin, Skinner, guitarist AJ Rebollo, and bassist Derek Bolman.

The release was timed to coincide with the strawberry moon, the full moon that rises in late June, tying into the band’s longstanding wolf imagery. Skinner and Bad Wolves had previously collaborated in 2023 on the track “It’s You (2 Months).” According to the band, the new single is the first taste of music from their upcoming fifth studio album.
