Dead Poet Society Release Dark New Single “Roach” and Announce Spain Tour Dates
Los Angeles quartet Dead Poet Society have released their new single “Roach” alongside a music video — and simultaneously announced a sweeping European tour launching in January 2027. The band will play Spain on January 23 in Madrid at Sala Wagon and January 24 in Barcelona at Sala Razzmatazz 2, with the tour opening January 21 in Lisbon and closing March 5 in Helsinki.
“Roach” is the band’s second consecutive standalone single, following “Sinner Systems” from May, and their first new material since the album “FISSION” (2024). Both tracks were produced by Paul Meany (Twenty One Pilots, Pierce the Veil), mixed by Adam Hawkins (Turnstile, Yungblud), and recorded at Valley View Studios and The Park in Los Angeles. The “Roach” video is co-directed by frontman Jack Underkofler and Mindreader, building a cinematic slow-burn where unease steadily gives way to dread. The band describe the song as being about resentment: “It’s about those who have wronged you, taken advantage of you, hurt you. Let the feeling fester and consume you.” “Sinner Systems, ” meanwhile, was built around the impulse to “hold a mirror up to modern excess and emotional numbness.”
The lineup is Jack Underkofler (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Jack Collins (guitar), Dylan Brenner (bass) and Will Goodroad (drums). Their debut album “-! -” (2021) and follow-up “FISSION” drew strong critical praise: Kerrang! called their music “fuzzed-up alt-rock with swaggering confidence, ” New Noise gave “FISSION” a perfect five stars, and Rolling Stone France dubbed it “explosive.” Tickets for the Madrid and Barcelona shows went on general sale July 3 via Livenation.es; presale for SMusic members began July 1, with a Live Nation fan presale on July 2.
