Jimena Amarillo Returns with New Single “Yo quiero un affaire”
Jimena Amarillo is back with a new single: “Yo quiero un affaire”. Breezy, spring-ready and straight to the point, the track recalls her earliest songs — sentimental pop stripped of any excess, built around the kind of lyrics that hit without warning. The release arrives alongside her first-ever concerts in Mexico.
The Valencia-born artist, born in 2001, has become one of the defining voices of Spain’s new pop scene. Tagged as an icon of “drama-pop-lesbiano” music — her own term, worn like a badge — Jimena writes, records, produces and designs almost everything herself, and her output has a consistency that reflects it: three studio albums, “Como decirte, mi amor” (2021), “La pena no es cómoda” (2023) and “ANGÉLIKA” (2025), plus a string of singles. “ANGÉLIKA” was recorded at the Entreprise Studios in Paris with producer Marin Zannad — the same rooms used by Justice, Metronomy, Tame Impala and Yelle — and features vocal contributions from suai suave, Ouineta and Queralt Lahoz. After its release, Forbes included her in its 30 Under 30 list.
“Yo quiero un affaire” is her first release since the album, and a clean first step into whatever comes next.
