Kiefer Sutherland releases “Goodbye California”, second single from upcoming album Grey
Actor and musician Kiefer Sutherland has shared “Goodbye California”, the second preview track from his fourth studio album Grey, due out on 29 May via Maple Creek Records. The song was co-written with producer Ethan Johns, whose credits include Kings of Leon and Laura Marling. It follows the earlier single “Simpler Time” and further sets the tone for an album Sutherland has described as his most personal to date. Of the new track, he says it is a farewell to a place where a young man’s dreams came true.
Grey is Sutherland’s fourth record in the country, Americana, and folk space, written and recorded over two years between 2024 and 2026. Production is shared between Ethan Johns, Rocco DeLuca, and Mark Neill. The ten-track album marks a deliberate shift inward: rather than writing about the world around him, Sutherland says he focused on feelings he has been navigating in his own life.
Ahead of the album’s release, Sutherland is touring Europe. Spanish fans can catch him on 5 May at La [2] de Apolo in Barcelona and on 6 May at La Sala del Movistar Arena in Madrid. Tickets are available through each venue’s official channels.
