Soen in Spain: the Reliance Tour brings three Swedish heavyweights to four Spanish cities

In November and December 2026, Soen return to Spain for four dates in support of their seventh studio album Reliance, joined by fellow Swedes Tribulation and Vulkan. The tour runs as follows: November 27 at Mamba in Murcia, November 28 at Custom in Seville, December 1 at But in Madrid, and December 2 at Santana 27 in Bilbao. Three bands, four cities, one concentrated dose of the best progressive metal and gothic metal the Swedish scene has produced in recent years.

Soen were founded in 2010 by drummer Martin Lopez — former member of Opeth during the band’s most celebrated period, and before that of Amon Amarth — alongside vocalist Joel Ekelöf. Their debut Cognitive (2012) established a sound that drew clear comparisons to Tool while synthesising influences from Opeth and Katatonia into something with its own distinct gravity. Six albums followed — Tellurian (2014), Lykaia (2017), Lotus (2019), Imperial (2021) and Memorial (2023) — each refining the formula of heavy, groove-driven riffing layered against post-rock atmosphere and Ekelöf’s melodically versatile voice. Reliance, released January 16, 2026, on Silver Lining Music and produced by Alexander Backlund at Fascination Street Studios, is their most anthemic and immediate record to date: ten tracks dense with melody, marked by some of the heaviest guitar work in their catalogue alongside the luminous atmospheric passages that have always been central to their identity.

Tribulation have been one of the most deliberately evolving acts in Swedish metal since forming in 2005. From old-school death metal through psychedelic progressive detours to the fully realised gothic metal of Sub Rosa in Æternum (Century Media, November 2024), their trajectory has been consistent without ever being predictable. The album — their sixth — draws on British goth, Italian giallo cinema and Art Deco aesthetics, with Johannes Andersson’s clean gothic vocals now taking centre stage alongside the occasional death metal growl. Two Swedish Grammy awards underscore the quality of the output. Completing the bill are Vulkan, whose 2020 album Technatura announced them as one of the most compelling voices in heavy progressive rock, with a sound that sits between density and atmosphere without sacrificing either.

Tickets are priced at €35 in advance and €40 at the door across all four dates, available exclusively through madnesslive.es.
