Ozzy Osbourne’s iconic throne to join Birmingham Museum exhibition
Ozzy Osbourne's iconic gothic throne, last seen at the “Back To The Beginning” concert, will join the free exhibition “Ozzy Osbourne: Working Class Hero” at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery starting July 1, 2026, in the musician’s home city. The timing coincides with the anniversary of his final performance and his death last July.
The black gothic-style throne, featuring bat-wing motifs, was originally created for Ozzy’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024. It was last seen on July 5, 2025, at Villa Park, during his solo set and Black Sabbath’s farewell concert. Sharon Osbourne, who donated the piece to the museum, said that with the anniversary of “Back To The Beginning” approaching, it felt fitting for the throne — now synonymous with Ozzy’s final performance — to be placed where fans who loved him could see it.
The throne joins an extensive collection of personal memorabilia, photographs and awards tracing Ozzy’s journey from his working-class upbringing in Aston, Birmingham, to becoming one of rock music’s most recognizable figures. Curated by Central BID Birmingham and Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery in collaboration with the Osbourne family, the exhibition has been extended twice since opening in June 2025, drawing more than 640,000 visitors, and will now run through September 27, 2026.
