Motionless in White release “R.I.P.” featuring Skylar Grey, third single from upcoming album “Decades”
Motionless in White have shared the new single “R.I.P.” featuring Skylar Grey, the five-time Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum artist known for collaborations with Dr. Dre, Eminem and Marilyn Manson. The accompanying video was directed by Jensen Noen, who previously worked with the band on the “Werewolf” and “Sign Of Life” visuals.
“R.I.P.” is the third preview of the forthcoming album “Decades”, due July 17 via Roadrunner Records. The track opens with piano melting into funereal synths, above which the voices of Chris Motionless and Skylar Grey intertwine on an expansive chorus. The vocalist described the song as capturing the suffocating silence after hurtful words have been exchanged — and the uncertainty of whether a relationship can recover. The themes, he noted, extend beyond romance to friendships and family. Previous singles from the record include “Afraid of the Dark” and “Playing God”, the latter featuring Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor.
“Decades” marks the band’s seventh studio album, recorded in upstate New York and Los Angeles with co-producers Drew Fulk and Justin “JD” deBlieck. Alongside Grey and Taylor, Dark Divine’s Anthony Martinez also appears on the record. The band’s lineup remains unchanged: Chris Motionless (vocals), Ricky Olson and Ryan Sitkowski (guitars), Vinny Mauro (drums) and Justin Morrow (bass).
To support the new album, Motionless in White launch “The Sweat and Blood Tour” — their first North American headline run in nearly three years — on July 14 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, with Lorna Shore, Fit for a King and Static Dress as support. A second autumn leg follows with Dayseeker, The Devil Wears Prada and Dark Divine.
