Arca announces new album “XXXXX, ” her first in five years
Venezuelan artist Arca has announced “XXXXX, ” her first full-length album in five years, following the close of her Kick series in 2020–2021. The 16-track record arrives July 31 via XL Recordings.
Ahead of the release, Arca staged the “Diva.Experimental” livestream, a two-hour performance directed by Daniel Sannwald and filmed across seven locations in Barcelona, streamed on Twitch and YouTube, during which she performed several unreleased tracks from the album.
According to her label, “XXXXX” is a “darker, more aggressive, more experimental” work than her previous releases. The album follows the singles “Puta” and “Sola” and her contribution to Madonna’s “Confessions II.”
The release ends a five-year gap since Arca’s last studio album and opens a new chapter following one of the most ambitious series of her recent career.
