70000 Tons Of Metal 2027 announces first acts: Uli Jon Roth, Arch Enemy and Moonspell among confirmed bands
The organizers of the world’s largest heavy metal cruise, 70000 Tons Of Metal, have announced the first part of the lineup for the 2027 edition. The first confirmed acts include Arch Enemy, Moonspell, Uli Jon Roth, Amaranthe, Brainstorm, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, Enforcer, Evergrey, Equilibrium, Melechesh, Mors Principium Est, Obscura, Thulcandra and Warbringer.
A total of 60 bands will perform onboard next year, with the remaining names of the lineup set to be revealed in the coming weeks.
One of the highlights of the upcoming cruise will be special performances by legendary guitarist Uli Jon Roth, best known for his work with Scorpions. The musician will present a special program celebrating the 50th anniversary of two classic albums by the band: his first set will feature the complete performance of “Virgin Killer”, while the second show will focus on “In Trance”.
Uli Jon Roth is regarded as one of the key figures in the development of neoclassical metal. His unique style combined blues rock influences with elements of European classical music. He is also the founder of the Sky Academy, an educational platform dedicated to helping guitarists develop their musical skills.
70000 Tons Of Metal 2027 will take place from January 14 to 18 aboard Royal Caribbean’s Freedom Of The Seas cruise ship. The journey will sail from Miami to Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic and back.
Over four days, fans will enjoy more than 120 live performances across four stages, including the famous pool deck stage. Every band will perform twice, while guests will also have access to artist meet-and-greets, masterclasses, exclusive events and the traditional Jamming In International Waters concert.
Around 3,000 tickets will be available for fans. 70000 Tons Of Metal continues its unique format without VIP areas, allowing fans and artists to share the same experience throughout the entire voyage.
