Amorphis Bring Melodic Death Metal and Nordic Atmospheres to Spain
Finnish metal band Amorphis will bring their Borderland Tour 2027 to Spain, combining melodic death metal, Nordic atmospheres and progressive elements across two concerts. They will be joined by fellow Finns Insomnium as special guests, with American band Unto Others opening each show.
Throughout their career, Amorphis have developed a distinctive sound that combines heavy guitar work with intricate melodies, atmospheric passages and mythological inspiration. Their music extends beyond the boundaries of traditional extreme metal, balancing aggressive riffs with elaborate arrangements and a broad range of musical textures. This blend of heaviness and melody remains central to the band’s identity.
Insomnium will bring their own take on melodic death metal to the line-up, drawing on layered guitar melodies and a distinctly melancholic atmosphere. Opening the concerts, Unto Others will offer a different perspective on heavy music, with a sound rooted in gothic metal and hard rock. Together, the three bands bring contrasting approaches to a tour built around contemporary metal and its varied musical influences.
The Spanish leg features two confirmed dates. On 9 February 2027, Amorphis, Insomnium and Unto Others will perform at Sala Apolo in Barcelona. The following evening, 10 February 2027, the tour will arrive at La Riviera in Madrid. Both concerts will feature all three bands as part of the same European tour.
