Cult Of Luna Return to Barcelona with a New Album and Their Defining Post-Metal Sound

Swedish band Cult Of Luna return to Spain to present their ninth studio album, “In The Shadow Of Your Shadow”, live. Known for their uncompromising approach and constant artistic evolution, the sextet enters a new chapter with a record they have described as the darkest and most ambitious of their 25-year career. The album also features contributions from Joe Duplantier of Gojira and David Eugene Edwards, known for his work with 16 Horsepower and Wovenhand.

Founded by Johannes Persson and Magnus Lindberg, Cult Of Luna have developed a distinctive musical identity at the intersection of sludge, post-rock and post-metal. Their compositions combine crushing heaviness with expansive atmospheric passages, building tension through dynamic shifts and carefully structured arrangements. Rather than settling into a fixed formula, the band continues to explore the boundaries of its sound. “In The Shadow Of Your Shadow” follows this creative direction while retaining the intensity and depth that have defined the group’s work.

Barcelona will host Cult Of Luna’s only indoor venue show in Spain on this run. The band will be joined by two special guests: American duo Youth Code and French group BRUIT ≤. Their participation brings together different perspectives on heavy and experimental music, creating a varied bill around Cult Of Luna’s performance.

February 28, 2027 — Barcelona, Razzmatazz 1.

The concert offers an opportunity to experience Cult Of Luna’s new material live and revisit the band’s characteristic fusion of sludge, post-rock and post-metal. With a new album at the centre of the performance and two acclaimed acts joining the lineup, the Barcelona date marks a distinctive stop in the group’s return to Spain.
