Eihwar: The Power of Electro Folk and the Ancient Rhythms of the North
French duo Eihwar are returning to Spain for two shows as part of Route Resurrection. Formed by Asrunn and Mark in 2023, the project has developed a distinctive sound that brings together pagan folk, electronic music and references to Scandinavian mythology. Drawing on Viking culture and ancient pagan traditions, Eihwar turn folkloric influences into a contemporary, rhythm-driven musical experience.
The Spanish shows will centre on Hugrheim, Eihwar’s third album, released in March 2026. The record continues the duo’s artistic development, bringing together electro folk, European folklore and Nordic-inspired imagery within a recognisable musical identity. Rather than simply recreating sounds from the past, Eihwar reinterpret these influences through a modern approach that gives their music its own character.
Following their performance at Resurrection Fest 2025, the duo will return to Spanish audiences. Swedish band Hindarfjäll will join them as special guests at both concerts. Rooted in Nordic folk, Hindarfjäll explore Scandinavian mythology, rituals and ancient spiritual traditions, offering a complementary perspective on the cultural heritage of Northern Europe.
The Spanish leg of the tour includes two dates:
February 10, 2027 — Madrid, Sala Nazca.
February 11, 2027 — Barcelona, Razzmatazz 2.
These Route Resurrection shows will offer an opportunity to experience Eihwar’s latest material from Hugrheim alongside a special guest whose music is closely connected to Scandinavian folk traditions. Bringing together electronic energy, pagan folklore and Nordic mythology, the concerts will present two distinct musical approaches shaped by a shared interest in the ancient cultures of Northern Europe.
