Sonia y Selena officially split a year after reuniting
The Spanish pop duo Sonia y Selena has officially announced their split. According to their agency, the decision was made unilaterally by one of the members, citing “several disagreements” within the group.
As a result, some previously scheduled concerts and commitments will be canceled or postponed. The agency expressed regret and promised to handle each case individually.
The group emphasized that despite the end of their joint activities, Sonia y Selena’s musical legacy will remain alive, and the duo’s songs continue to be popular among fans.
Sonia y Selena first became famous in the early 2000s, and their hit Yo quiero bailar is still considered a classic. Recently, the duo returned to the stage, participating in Benidorm Fest 2025, but already a year after reuniting it became clear that the previous harmony in the group no longer exists.
Preliminary information indicates that Sonia Madoc plans to focus on a solo career, while details about Selena Leo’s future projects will be announced later.
