The Beatles Return: The New Trailer for the Restored “Anthology” Brings an Entire Era Back to Life

The first official trailer for the restored documentary series The Beatles Anthology has been released online, instantly becoming one of the most talked-about music events of the year. The video, presented by Disney+, reveals what the large-scale reissue of the iconic 1995 project will look like — now fully restored, with enhanced visuals, updated sound, and an entirely new episode that has never been seen before.

The central highlight emphasized in the trailer is the appearance of a ninth episode, created from archival footage recorded in 1994–1995. The video features Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr reunited as they worked on the original Anthology project. These rare fragments — private conversations, behind-the-scenes moments and working discussions — remained stored for decades in the Apple Corps archives. Now they will become part of the updated series, premiering on Disney+ on November 26, 2025.

The trailer also draws attention to the extensive restoration of the original eight episodes. The visuals have been cleaned and modernized, the audio completely reworked, and the material assembled into a more cohesive narrative. The restoration was carried out by Apple Corps in collaboration with Peter Jackson’s Wingnut Films and Park Road Post, explaining the remarkably high level of image and sound processing. Even the opening seconds of the trailer show how deeply and carefully the archive has been revitalized.

Yet the documentary series is only part of the broader Anthology relaunch. Alongside the premiere comes the Anthology Collection — four volumes of music releases. The first three are remastered versions of the classic albums, but the greatest interest surrounds Anthology 4, which includes previously unreleased demos, drafts and studio sessions — from early versions of well-known songs to recordings that spent decades locked away in Apple Corps’ vaults. New versions of “Free as a Bird” and “Real Love” were remixed by Giles Martin using modern technology that allows John Lennon’s vocals to be highlighted with exceptional precision.

Another major part of the campaign is the updated edition of the book The Beatles: Anthology, a large-scale visual-biographical work containing more than 1,300 photographs, documents, handwritten materials and personal reflections from the band members and their closest collaborators. This is an expanded and rethought version of one of the most important books in Beatles history.

Together, the trailer, the series, the musical collection and the book create a full-fledged cultural event. The release of the trailer marks the starting point of this major return. Judging by its atmosphere, the upcoming release is not just a remaster of old material but a deep, emotional and technologically modern immersion into the history of a band that continues to shape global music culture.

The restored Anthology is not merely a reconstruction of the past. It is an attempt to revive the emotions, conversations, creative tension and human connection of four musicians who changed music forever. And judging by the trailer, The Beatles are returning as if they had never left.
