Matías Uribe releases a new book on Héroes del Silencio
Spanish music journalist Matías Uribe, who had closer access to Héroes del Silencio than almost anyone else — even before the band took shape — has published a new volume devoted to the iconic Zaragoza group. The book, Gloria a Héroes del Silencio: De cerca con Matías Uribe, is a self-published title available exclusively on Amazon in three formats: eBook, paperback and hardcover with full-colour photographs.
Built around 53 short chapters, the book draws on Uribe’s earlier work on the band — El sueño de un destino (2007) — while adding entirely new material: tribute bands, the story behind the group’s logo and symbols, fanzines, collectors, bootleg recordings, the official documentary, the Día H fan gathering, live concerts and the exhibition about the band in their hometown. Uribe’s four decades of close observation give the book a perspective few authors could offer.
Héroes del Silencio, active from 1984 to 1996, remain one of the most internationally successful Spanish rock bands in history, with a devoted following across Europe and Latin America. Albums like Senderos de traición, El espíritu del vino and Avalancha became generational landmarks. Nearly thirty years after their dissolution, the band’s legacy keeps growing — and this book is the latest proof of it.
