Biopic About Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne Set for 2028 Release
The long-gestating biopic centered on Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne is moving forward once again, with a release currently slated for 2028. The update comes from their son, Jack Osbourne.
Originally announced in 2021, the film is expected to explore not only Ozzy’s rise as one of rock’s defining figures but also his relationship with Sharon, who has played a central role in both his personal life and career. The script is being written by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Lee Hall, known for Rocketman and Billy Elliot, while production is handled by Sony Pictures and Polygram Entertainment.
After a period of uncertainty surrounding the project’s development, it now appears to be back on track. According to Jack Osbourne, the script has been completed and production is expected to begin in due course. He also revealed that a “phenomenal” actor has been cast to play his father, though no name has been officially disclosed yet.
The film aims to offer a closer look at both Ozzy’s evolution as a cultural icon and the long-standing partnership with Sharon that has significantly shaped his career.
