La Jvnta Relaunch as a Quartet with New Single “Nomeolvides” and Calaverita Records Deal
La Jvnta are back — but not quite the same band. After a year of retreat and regrouping, the Spanish outfit has relocated to Seville, reconfigured as a quartet and signed with independent Madrid label Calaverita Records. Their comeback is announced with “Nomeolvides”, the lead single from an upcoming album currently in preparation.
The new lineup is built around Mugre (bass and vocals) and producer Miguel Otero, joined by Ismael Prieto, Álvaro Morato and Adriana Puentes. The band’s signature sound — which they describe as “neo-Mudéjar post-punk” — stays intact but reaches into more melodic territory. “Nomeolvides” blends groove-driven rhythms, an eighties rumba kick and sonic nods to The Clash, Radio Futura and Pony Bravo.
Lyrically, the track sits in La Jvnta’s characteristic territory between the political and the personal. The band describe it as “a song about love and revolution”, weaving together historical memory, antifascist anxiety and physical desire — all without resorting to sloganeering. The full-length album was recorded at Happy Place and Nada Nuevo studios with Miguel Otero producing; a release date has not yet been announced.
