Alter Bridge Release New Single “Scales Are Falling” Alongside Official Visualizer
Alter Bridge continue to build anticipation for their upcoming release by unveiling the new track “Scales Are Falling”, accompanied by an official visualizer. The song serves as the final single ahead of the band’s eighth studio album, titled Alter Bridge, which is set for release on January 9, 2026, via Napalm Records.
The new track is now available across all major digital platforms, while the visualizer was created by artist Marcin Pospiech, known for his work with Nine Inch Nails and Tool. The visual presentation features a dark and tense aesthetic that reinforces the song’s dramatic tone and lyrical weight.
Musically, “Scales Are Falling” fits seamlessly into the signature sound of Alter Bridge, combining heavy guitar riffs, dynamic shifts, and the emotional vocals of Myles Kennedy. According to the frontman, the song’s lyrics focus on a moment of awakening — when illusions collapse and a person is forced to confront uncomfortable truths and the consequences of self-deception.
Guitarist Mark Tremonti explained that the track is built around contrasts and evolving moods. He also noted that the guitar solos are shared between the two members: Tremonti performs the solo in the middle section, while Kennedy delivers the closing lead part.
The upcoming album Alter Bridge will feature 12 brand-new tracks, including the previously released singles “Silent Divide”, “Playing Aces”, and “What Lies Within”. The album was once again produced by longtime collaborator Michael “Elvis” Baskette, who has worked with the band throughout much of their career. The closing track, “Slave To Master”, will be the longest song in Alter Bridge’s history.
In support of the new album, Alter Bridge will embark on an extensive world tour. The European leg kicks off on January 15 in Hamburg, Germany, followed by a U.S. tour in spring 2026 featuring special guests. These shows will mark the band’s first major touring cycle in support of the new material.
With more than two decades of activity behind them, Alter Bridge have firmly established themselves as one of the most consistent and respected acts in modern hard rock, continuing to release relevant and compelling music that resonates with both longtime fans and new listeners.
