Living Legends of Chicano Rock: Los Lobos to Perform a Series of Concerts in Spain
Legendary American band Los Lobos is returning to Spain with a series of concerts as part of its European tour. The group, which for more than fifty years has remained one of the key figures at the crossroads of rock music, folk, blues, and traditional Latin American genres, will perform in several Spanish cities in early February 2026.
The Spanish leg of the tour will begin on February 4 in Santiago de Compostela, where the musicians will take the stage at the Capitol venue. The following day, February 5, Los Lobos will perform in Barcelona at Sala Apolo, and on February 6 they will conclude the run with a concert in Madrid at Sala Wagon. These dates are part of the extensive Los Lobos European tour 2025–2026, which follows their recent concerts in the United States and Italy.
Los Lobos was formed in 1973 in East Los Angeles and from the very beginning developed a distinctive musical language, seamlessly blending classic rock and roll, R& B rhythms, blues, country, and Mexican musical traditions, ranging from norteño to mariachi. This cultural layering has made the band a unique phenomenon in American music history and one of the most important representatives of Chicano rock.
Worldwide recognition came to Los Lobos with the hit “La Bamba”, but their contribution goes far beyond a single song. Over the decades, the band has released dozens of studio and live albums, received multiple Grammy Awards, and maintained a rare consistency in its lineup. Today, the core members — David Hidalgo, Louie Pérez Jr., Cesar Rosas, Conrad Lozano, and Steve Berlin — continue to perform together, making their live shows especially valuable for fans.
The band’s most recent studio album to date, Native Sons (2021), served as a musical tribute to Los Angeles and its rich cultural scene. On this record, Los Lobos reinterpreted songs by iconic artists from the city, highlighting their own roots and the influence of local culture. Since its release, the band has remained active on the road, reinforcing its reputation as one of the most powerful live concert acts of its generation.
The upcoming Los Lobos concerts in Spain offer a rare opportunity to see artists who are not only part of music history but who continue to evolve while preserving their relevance and intense stage energy. For Spanish audiences, these performances are set to become a major highlight of the concert season and a true encounter with a living legend of American and Latin rock music.
