Blogger Gasp and musician Oliver Tree among six killed in helicopter collision in Rio de Janeiro
A helicopter collision in Rio de Janeiro on the morning of June 14 left six people dead, according to local authorities.
The accident occurred in the western part of the city, in the Recreio dos Bandeirantes area, around 9:00 a.m. local time. After the mid-air collision, one of the helicopters crashed into a parking area near a shopping center. The impact triggered a large fire that quickly spread to nearby infrastructure, including an electric vehicle charging station, destroying around twenty cars.
Among the victims were Argentine blogger Gaspar Prim Diaz, known as Gasp, filmmaker and producer Lucas Vignale, and American musician Oliver Tree. Emergency services confirmed that no one aboard either aircraft survived.
Gasp was known as a social media influencer with millions of followers and viral content. Lucas Vignale worked in music and independent cinema, collaborating with several prominent Latin American artists. Oliver Tree gained international recognition with his track Life Goes On and was preparing for a European tour.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
