Leyendas del Rock marks 20 years as Spain’s home of metal
Festival Leyendas del Rock celebrates its 20th anniversary with what organizers call the most ambitious edition in its history. Since its founding in 2006, Villena, in the province of Alicante, has become Spain’s unofficial home of heavy metal, and the 2026 anniversary lineup brings a record-breaking bill spread across the Azucena, Jesús de la Rosa, and Mark Reale stages.
Wednesday, August 5, opens with the brute force of Slaughter to Prevail, the return of legendary American band Savatage, and a farewell show from Sepultura in Spain; the day also features Black Label Society, Orbit Culture, and Thundermother. Thursday, August 6, hands the reins to melodic death metal with Arch Enemy and Dark Tranquillity, alongside Godsmack's first-ever performance in the country and metalcore act Of Mice & Men. Friday, August 7, is headlined by an exclusive Spanish show from In Flames, plus Stratovarius, Saurom, and Nothing More. The festival closes Saturday, August 8, with Helloween, marking their own 40th anniversary, alongside WarCry, Heaven Shall Burn, and Deicide.
The Spanish dates are August 5 through 8, 2026, in Villena, at the Polideportivo Municipal, at the foot of the Atalaya Castle.
A four-day pass costs 199 €, with single-day tickets also available; camping passes with shade (33 €) and pool access passes (33 €) can be added as extras.
