OMD bring synth pop’s electricity to Valencia and Madrid
British band OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark) will perform in Valencia and Madrid alongside French duo <<rinôçérôse>>, with both shows set within open-air summer music series. The band, formed in 1978 by childhood friends Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys, became a pioneer of electronic music through cult 1980s albums such as Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Organisation, Architecture & Morality, and Dazzle Ships. More than four decades on, the band remains one of the genre’s leading live acts, with anthems like Enola Gay, Souvenir, and If You Leave; their latest studio album, Bauhaus Staircase, was released in October 2023.
French duo <<rinôçérôse>>, formed in Montpellier in 1995 by Patou Carrie and Jean-Philippe Freu, has grown into a collective with a shifting lineup that blends electronic music, French house, and a guitar-driven rock edge, drawing on both British rock and shoegaze. For both acts, these shows offer a rare chance to see them live in open-air settings, one by the sea and the other surrounded by a city garden.
The Spanish dates are July 17, 2026, in Valencia, at Marina Norte, as part of the FAR Valencia series, and July 18, 2026, in Madrid, at the Real Jardín Botánico Alfonso XIII, as part of the tenth edition of Noches del Botánico, marking OMD’s debut on that stage.
Tickets for the Madrid show start at 55 €; the evening opens at 8:30 PM with <<rinôçérôse>> and continues at 10:00 PM with OMD’s set. Exact pricing for the Valencia show can be checked on the festival’s official website.
