Ice Nine Kills Complete Writing of Their Debut Horror Film The Slashin’ Of The Christ
American metalcore band Ice Nine Kills has officially announced the completion of the script for their first full-length horror film titled The Slashin’ Of The Christ. The project is already being discussed with potential studios and directors, and the band members hope to attract well-known actors in the horror genre.
The band’s vocalist, Spencer Charnas, personally participated in writing the script together with experienced screenwriter Paul Soter, known for comedy and adventure projects such as Super Troopers and Club Dread. According to Charnas, the film will combine bloody scenes with an ironic take on classic horror tropes, making it a unique project at the intersection of music and cinema. Producer and special effects master Greg Nicotero, known for iconic projects like The Walking Dead and Creepshow, also confirmed his involvement, ensuring high-quality visual effects and authentic horror atmosphere.
Despite the provocative title, Charnas emphasized that the film is not intended to offend religious feelings. He compared the upcoming film to the classic horror The Exorcist, which, despite its controversial plot, received recognition even from representatives of the Catholic Church. Plot details are still kept secret, but it is already known that the band plans to involve actors familiar to horror fans and does not rule out the participation of star actors in key roles.
The project The Slashin’ Of The Christ was first announced in April 2025. It is a logical continuation of Ice Nine Kills’ involvement in the horror industry. The band has previously collaborated with cinema through songs featured in horror films, including Terrifier 3, and also organizes its own horror festival Silver Scream Con, attended by actors and directors of the genre. The musicians have also produced large-scale music videos featuring well-known horror actors such as David Howard Thornton and Matthew Lillard, creating a strong connection between music and cinema.
In addition to working on the film, Ice Nine Kills is actively preparing a new studio album, scheduled for release in 2026. It will include recently released singles such as A Work Of Art, The Great Unknown, and The Laugh Track. The band continues to tour worldwide, participating in major festivals and tours, maintaining popularity and recognition among metalcore and horror fans.
Ice Nine Kills, combining music, horror, and cinema, create a unique cultural universe where fans can experience emotions through both music and visual stories. The project The Slashin’ Of The Christ promises to be a significant event in the world of horror culture, attracting the attention of both genre fans and critics.
