Hispanidad 2026: Madrid Celebrates the Diversity of Spanish-Speaking Cultures
From October 2 to 12, 2026, Madrid will host a new edition of Hispanidad, an international festival celebrating the Spanish language and the cultural diversity of Spanish-speaking countries. The sixth edition will feature more than 200 events across nearly 70 venues throughout the region, including live concerts, dance performances, theatre, film screenings, exhibitions and gastronomic experiences. The United States will be the guest country, marking the 250th anniversary of its independence.
Music will be at the heart of the festival, bringing together performers from Spain, Latin America and the United States. The lineup includes Colombian singer Sebastián Yatra, Spanish pop star Marta Sánchez and Venezuelan singer Carlos Baute, alongside internationally acclaimed artists such as Aterciopelados, Cuban jazz musician Arturo Sandoval and singer Aymée Nuviola. Other performers include Nat Simons, Lin Cortés, La Chica, 091 and Los Cumbia Stars, representing a wide range of musical styles and traditions.
The festival’s main outdoor concert venues will be Plaza de España, Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor. Their stages will host an eclectic programme spanning Latin American rhythms, jazz, flamenco and Spanish pop. The musical offerings will also include tributes to Broadway and Madrid’s Gran Vía, as well as a celebration of the pioneers of Spanish pop music from the 1960s and 1970s.
One of the festival’s major highlights will be the Grand Hispanidad Parade, taking place along Madrid’s Gran Vía on Sunday, October 4, from 6 pm. The procession will feature 15 floats and representatives from 23 nationalities, showcasing the cultural diversity of the Hispanic world. The United States will have a special presence, with dancers, musicians and the World Street Brass Band from New Orleans among the participants.
Beyond its musical programme, Hispanidad 2026 will offer a broad selection of dance, theatre, cinema and visual arts. Participating venues include the Royal Collections Gallery, the Costume Museum, Teatros del Canal and Teatro de La Abadía. Families will also find outdoor activities in locations such as the Gardens of Vista Alegre Palace and Santander Park. The programme will extend beyond the capital to include other municipalities in the Madrid region, including Coslada, which will host the 30th anniversary gala of the Larumbe Danza company.
Running for eleven days, Hispanidad 2026 will bring together artists, performers and cultural traditions from across the Spanish-speaking world. With events taking place in Madrid and other towns in the region, the festival offers a wide-ranging programme celebrating the shared language, artistic creativity and cultural heritage of communities on both sides of the Atlantic.
