Placebo

Placebo in Spain: the debut that defined a generation turns thirty

When Placebo released their self-titled debut in 1996, British rock was deep in Britpop nostalgia. They offered the opposite: dark, androgynous, confrontational, and unflinching about addiction, alienation, and identity. Thirty years on, that record feels more relevant than ever. Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal are marking the anniversary with a full European arena run — and Spain is on the map for October 2026.

The 30th Anniversary Tour is tied to the release of Placebo RE: CREATED, a reworked version of the 1996 debut built from the original master tapes alongside producer Rob Kirwan. All ten tracks — including Nancy Boy, 36 Degrees, and Bruise Pristine — have been reimagined with three decades of live performance woven in, while preserving the raw spirit of the original. The band call it “a director’s cut”: the record they always meant to make. Alongside the debut material, the Placebo concert setlist will also draw from Without You I’m Nothing (1998), with some songs not played live in over two decades.

Spain gets two dates: October 1, 2026 at the Movistar Arena in Madrid, and October 3, 2026 at Sant Jordi Club in Barcelona. Both shows start at 8:45 PM. These are the opening Spanish stops on a tour spanning over thirty European cities, closing out in Cardiff in December.

Tickets are on sale at livenation.es and ticketmaster.es. General admission standing starts at €55 plus fees; seated from €59. A VIP package with early pit entry and exclusive merchandise is available from €195. Under-16s must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket in the same section.
