BIGSOUND Festival in Torrevieja cancels its 2026 edition and postpones the event
The BIGSOUND festival in Torrevieja will not take place in the summer of 2026. The organizers, together with the city council, have announced the postponement of the project, citing insufficient audience demand and ticket sales to ensure the event under the planned conditions.
The official statement notes that despite the efforts made in planning and promoting the festival, the current situation does not allow it to go ahead as scheduled. As a result, the decision has been taken to delay the project and explore future scheduling options.
Both the organizers and the city council expressed gratitude to all partners, collaborators, and teams involved in the preparation process. It is also highlighted that the project was part of a broader cultural strategy for the city.
The Torrevieja City Council reaffirmed its commitment to culture and live music, maintaining a strong year-round program and considering major events as a key driver for tourism and economic development.
Meanwhile, the BIGSOUND organization thanked the municipality for its collaboration and expressed interest in exploring a possible return of the festival in the future if conditions become more favorable.
