May 8 is set to become one of the busiest release days of the spring season, with new albums arriving from artists across indie folk, alternative rock, Latin music, metal, and pop. Among the most anticipated releases are Aldous Harding’s new album “Train On The Island”, the long-awaited Black Veil Brides record “Vindicate”, and Westlife’s anniversary collection “25 — The Ultimate Collection”. Chris Brown will also unveil his new studio album “Brown”, already considered one of May’s major R& B releases. Heavy music fans are especially looking forward to new works from Darkthrone (“Pre-Historic Metal”), Draconian (“In Somnolent Ruin”), Social Distortion (“Born To Kill”), and Jungle Rot (“Cruel Face Of War”). Spanish-language highlights include Carín León with “Muda”, Rels B with “Love Love FLAKK”, Melendi with “Pop Rock”, as well as Siloé and Sílvia Pérez Cruz, who will release “Terrorismo emocional” and “Oral_Abisal” respectively. Other notable releases arriving on May 8 include Broken Social Scene’s “Remember The Humans”, Muna’s “Dancing On The Wall”, Lykke Li’s “The Afterparty”, and Josh Groban’s “Cinematic”.

One of the week’s most talked-about releases is already shaping up to be “Train On The Island”, the fifth studio album from New Zealand artist Aldous Harding, recorded with producer John Parish at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales. The album continues Harding’s collaboration with 4AD and features ten tracks, including the previously released single “One Stop”. Meanwhile, Black Veil Brides return with “Vindicate”, a 14-track album featuring songs such as “Bleeders”, “Hallelujah”, “Certainty”, and a collaboration with Machine Head. For pop music fans, Westlife’s “25 — The Ultimate Collection” will be another major event, celebrating the band’s 25th anniversary. May 8 will also bring new albums from Crashdïet (“Art Of Chaos”), Hocico (“Unseen Horror Scenes”), The Lemon Twigs (“Look For Your Mind!”), Reverend and the Makers (“Is This How Happiness Feels?”), War On Women (“Time Under Tension”), Teramaze (“The Silent Architect”), Torian (“The Lost Legion Rising”), and The Flatliners (“Cold World”). Additional anticipated releases include Guille Galván’s “Nadie con ese nombre vive aquí”, India Ramey’s “Villain Era”, and Jonny Greenwood’s soundtrack project “Ranjha”.
