Anitta and Shakira Release Their First Collaboration Choka Choka
Brazilian pop star Anitta and Colombian singer Shakira have recorded their first joint track. Choka Choka will be part of Anitta’s upcoming album EQUILIBRIVM.
The artists announced the release on April 6 via Instagram, sharing the single’s cover. The artwork shows them in a Tarot-inspired aesthetic, both adorned with large feathers.
Anitta said she is especially looking forward to the album release and is excited to present this collaboration. Shakira supported the announcement in her Instagram stories, writing in Portuguese, calling the track “amazing, ” and noting that fans will enjoy it.
Choka Choka is scheduled for release on Thursday, April 9, as the second single from the album. EQUILIBRIVM will be released on April 16. Previously, Anitta released the album’s first single, Pinterest.
The album will be the singer’s seventh studio release. Since her debut in 2013, Anitta has established herself as a global pop performer: her track Envolver (2022) became an international hit, and she has performed on major stages such as Coachella and Lollapalooza Paris.
In the coming days, Anitta will also make her debut on Saturday Night Live — with the new single premiering shortly before the broadcast.
