Peter Criss Releases New Solo Album — First Record by the KISS Legend in 18 Years

Today original KISS drummer and co-founder Peter Criss officially released his new solo album. The record, titled Peter Criss, marks the musician’s first full-length release in 18 years and coincides with his 80th birthday.

For fans of classic hard rock, this release carries special significance. Criss had not released a solo album since 2007, when One For All came out. The new material was developed over several years and, according to the artist himself, represents a deeply personal and emotional statement. Criss emphasized that he put his “heart and soul” into the album and noted that he remains satisfied with his vocal abilities despite his age.

The album was created in collaboration with experienced producer Barry Pointer, known for his work with Ozzy Osbourne, Mötley Crüe, and other major artists. Criss served as co-producer, maintaining full creative control over the project. The recording sessions featured well-known musicians, including guitarist John 5, bassist Billy Sheehan, Matthew “Piggy D.” Montgomery, keyboardist Paul Shaffer, and several guest vocalists. This lineup resulted in a rich and varied sound while staying firmly rooted in classic rock aesthetics.

The new Peter Criss album showcases his commitment to a hard rock approach without being limited to a single style. The songs explore personal and social themes, with certain tracks addressing faith, inner struggle, and life experience. One of the key songs, Walking On Water, reflects the hardships Criss has endured and his spiritual journey. The previously released track Creepy Crawlers immediately signaled that the album would focus on energetic, straightforward rock.

The album consists of 11 tracks, including Rock, Rockin’, Rock & Roll, Justice, In The Dark, Sugar, and Cheaper To Keep Her. A bonus track, Hard Rock Knockers, is also included. According to sources close to the musician, this is one of the most rock-oriented releases in his solo discography.

Peter Criss is widely recognized as a member of the original KISS lineup and the vocalist on iconic songs such as Beth, Black Diamond, and Hard Luck Woman. His contribution to rock music was formally acknowledged in 2025 when the classic KISS lineup received the Kennedy Center Honors. The new album represents not only the return of a legendary musician but also a natural and достойное continuation of his long-standing career.
