Battle Beast Announce New Vocalist: Marina La Torraca Opens a New Chapter in the Band’s History
Finnish metal band Battle Beast have officially introduced their new frontwoman, announcing Marina La Torraca as the group’s new vocalist. The appointment follows the recent news of Noora Louhimo’s departure after thirteen years as the band’s voice and a key contributor to its most important albums.
The band emphasized that the split with Noora took place without conflict or tension. In their statement, the musicians noted that the end of one era marks the beginning of a new creative phase, and that Marina La Torraca was chosen as an artist capable of naturally continuing the evolution of Battle Beast while preserving the band’s signature sound and energy.
Marina La Torraca is originally from São Paulo, Brazil. She is widely known as the vocalist of Phantom Elite and as a member of the symphonic metal project Exit Eden. Her musical journey began with performances in local cover bands, followed by professional training that included studying musical theatre in New York. She later worked in theatrical productions in Germany and other European countries, while simultaneously developing her career in heavy music.
In addition to her work as a singer, Marina La Torraca is active as a songwriter, producer, vocal coach and graphic designer. Members of Battle Beast specifically highlighted her wide vocal range, strong stage presence and ability to combine melodic singing with powerful metal delivery, qualities that proved decisive in selecting the band’s new vocalist.
Marina herself admitted that her initial reaction to the band’s message was disbelief, but after personal communication with the musicians, all doubts disappeared. She emphasized that she fully understands the responsibility of stepping into Noora Louhimo’s role and approaches it with respect, enthusiasm and total commitment. According to Marina, Battle Beast is a band with a unique history, and she is proud to become part of the next chapter of their journey.
Noora Louhimo, for her part, confirmed that the decision to leave the band was made consciously. The main reason was the demanding touring schedule, which made it difficult for her to focus on solo projects and personal creative development. The band thanked her for the years of collaboration and stressed that the separation took place in a friendly atmosphere with mutual support.
The first Battle Beast concerts featuring the new vocalist are scheduled for March 2026. The band will tour Japan and Australia, giving fans the first opportunity to hear live performances of classic songs and new material with Marina La Torraca on vocals. These shows will mark the live debut of the updated lineup on the international stage.
Battle Beast were formed in 2008 and have since become one of Finland’s most recognizable metal bands. Their most recent studio album, Steelbound, released via Nuclear Blast, further strengthened the band’s position on the global metal scene and received positive feedback from both critics and fans.
The appointment of Marina La Torraca represents a major turning point for Battle Beast, ushering in a new era that metal fans around the world are watching with great interest.
