Court Dismisses Marilyn Manson Lawsuit Over Sexual Assault Allegations
In December 2025, the Los Angeles County court officially dismissed the civil lawsuit against Marilyn Manson, in which his former personal assistant Ashley Walters accused the artist of sexual harassment and assault. The decision marked a significant milestone in the ongoing legal cases surrounding the musician over the past several years.
Judge Steve Cochran noted that the lawsuit was filed approximately ten years after the alleged events, which occurred between August 2010 and July 2011. According to state law, the statute of limitations for such claims had expired, and the delayed discovery rule did not apply, leading the court to dismiss the case before the jury trial began.
Ashley Walters’ lawyers expressed disappointment with the court’s decision and announced plans to appeal. They emphasized that the right to file a lawsuit should consider the psychological impact of trauma, as victims of sexual assault often delay seeking legal recourse. Marilyn Manson’s attorneys, on the other hand, stated that the court objectively assessed the legal merits of the case, allowing their client to move forward without unfounded accusations.
This ruling is another episode in a series of civil lawsuits against Marilyn Manson, many of which were previously dismissed or settled out of court. In 2023, the musician reached an out-of-court settlement with actress Esmé Bianco, and other similar claims were also resolved without a court verdict.
Additionally, Los Angeles County prosecutors in early 2025 announced that after a multi-year investigation, they would not file criminal charges against Manson due to the statute of limitations and insufficient evidence. These developments highlight that even in high-profile and widely publicized cases, the law remains the priority, and court decisions are well-founded and transparent.
The allegations against the musician first gained widespread attention in 2021 when actress Evan Rachel Wood publicly accused Manson of psychological, physical, and sexual abuse. Following her statement, other women came forward with similar claims, making Marilyn Manson’s legal battles a topic widely covered by global media and music publications.
Today, Marilyn Manson continues his career, and his legal victories underscore the importance of strict compliance with statutes of limitations and proper legal procedures in sexual assault cases. The artist’s story remains one of the most discussed in the world of music and entertainment, attracting attention from fans and legal experts alike.
