Mad Cool Festival turns ten in Madrid: four days, seventy-plus artists, one landmark summer
Mad Cool Festival is turning ten — and the lineup reflects the occasion. From 8 to 11 July 2026, Iberdrola Music in Villaverde, Madrid will host more than 70 artists across four days, each with its own distinct character. For the first time, the festival has capped daily attendance at 50,000–55,000 people, a deliberate decision to deepen the experience rather than expand the crowd.
The festival launched in 2016 at La Caja Mágica with Neil Young and The Who, and has since built a reputation as one of Europe’s most consistent summer events. Acts like Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead, Metallica, Depeche Mode and Billie Eilish have all appeared over the years. The anniversary edition follows the same logic: artists that fans have long wanted to see in Madrid, alongside those shaping music right now. 8 July opens with Foo Fighters on their Take Over Tour — their only Spanish date of 2026 — joined by Wolf Alice presenting “The Clearing” and The War on Drugs. 9 July brings Florence + The Machine with new album “Everybody Scream”, Lorde making her Madrid debut behind “Virgin”, and Jennie of BLACKPINK in solo mode, alongside Teddy Swims, Charlie Puth and The Blaze. 10 July belongs to Twenty One Pilots, Kings of Leon and Pixies — celebrating forty years — with Halsey, A Perfect Circle, Interpol and Sigrid also on the bill. The closing night of 11 July features Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, the return of Pulp with Jarvis Cocker, David Byrne and further performances from Moby, The Black Crowes and others.
