Foo Fighters Return: New Album Your Favorite Toy, Fresh Single and Major Tour Announced
American rock band Foo Fighters have officially announced the release of their new album Your Favorite Toy. The band’s twelfth studio record will be released on April 24, 2026, via Roswell Records and RCA. Alongside the announcement, the musicians unveiled the title single — the energetic track Your Favorite Toy, now available on digital platforms.
For Foo Fighters, this marks the first full-length release since But Here We Are (2023), which became a significant milestone in the band’s history. The new record continues the discography of the group founded by Dave Grohl in 1995 and stands as their twelfth studio album.
The title track Your Favorite Toy sets the tone for the upcoming release: dense guitar work, a driving rhythm section, and Dave Grohl’s expressive vocals shape the band’s signature sound. According to the musicians, this composition defined the direction of the entire recording. The material was developed over more than a year, and the album was recorded in the band’s own studio. Oliver Roman served as producer, while mixing was handled by renowned engineer Mark “Spike” Stent.
The album’s tracklist includes ten songs, among them the previously released single Asking For A Friend. However, the song Today’s Song, unveiled in 2025 to mark the band’s 30th anniversary, does not appear on the final tracklist. Other new tracks include Caught In The Echo, Of All People, Window, If You Only Knew, Spit Shine, Unconditional, Child Actor, and Amen, Caveman.
The recording of the new Foo Fighters album also solidifies the band’s updated lineup. Joining Dave Grohl on the record are Nate Mendel (bass), Chris Shiflett (guitar), Pat Smear (guitar), and Rami Jaffee (keyboards). Ilan Rubin handles drums on the album, becoming the group’s permanent drummer following a period of collaboration with Josh Freese. These changes followed the tragic passing of Taylor Hawkins in 2022.
In support of Your Favorite Toy, the band has already announced an extensive 2026–2027 world tour. A series of performances at major venues and festivals across North America and Europe is expected.
With this release, Foo Fighters return with new material, opening another chapter in the band’s nearly three-decade history. Your Favorite Toy is set to become a major event for fans of alternative and arena rock, with the newly released single already setting high expectations ahead of the April premiere.
