Angela Gossow Denies Rumors of Returning to Arch Enemy: What’s Happening with the Legendary Extreme Metal Vocalist
Legendary extreme metal vocalist Angela Gossow has officially denied rumors that she is allegedly returning to the Swedish band Arch Enemy. Recent teaser videos from the band featuring a mysterious image of a woman at the microphone sparked intense discussion among fans, who began speculating about a possible reunion. However, Angela quickly dispelled all speculation, emphasizing that it is not her.
In a comment on one of the band’s social media posts, Gossow clarified: “It’s not me! Thank you all for the support. I continue working with the band as their manager, and this is truly an exciting stage in our shared history.” Angela transitioned to a managerial role after leaving her position as vocalist in 2014 and has since been successfully guiding the band’s development.
The reasons behind the rumors of Angela’s return to Arch Enemy are understandable. In November 2025, the band announced the departure of frontwoman Alissa White-Gluz, who held the role for over 12 years. The release of mysterious teasers and the clearing of the band’s social media only fueled fan speculation about lineup changes. Despite this, no official announcement regarding a new vocalist has been made, and the identity of the future frontwoman remains unknown.
Angela Gossow joined Arch Enemy in 2000, replacing the previous vocalist, and contributed to the creation of the band’s iconic albums, from Wages of Sin (2001) to Khaos Legions (2011). Her powerful vocals and charisma became the band’s trademark, and after leaving the microphone, she passed the torch to Alissa White-Gluz while continuing her behind-the-scenes work.
Currently, Angela is fully focused on her role as the band’s manager, helping develop the brand, plan tours, and new musical projects. She emphasized that she does not plan to return to the stage as a vocalist but is actively involved in Arch Enemy’s strategic development, ensuring fans enjoy quality and consistency in the band’s work.
Thus, rumors of the legendary vocalist’s return were only fan-made expectations. For now, Arch Enemy continues to work on new projects, and Angela Gossow remains a key figure behind the scenes, combining management duties with support for the creative process.
