Cordovas Live in Spain: Nashville Americana Meets Back to Life on Tour
Cordovas are coming back to Spain. The Nashville-based Americana rock band — whose sound has consistently drawn comparisons to The Band, Grateful Dead, and Crosby, Stills & Nash — returns with Back to Life, their fifth studio album, released on January 30, 2026 via Yep Roc Records. Led by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Joe Firstman alongside guitarist and vocalist Lucca Soria, Cordovas have spent a decade building something rare: a band with genuine character, one that has earned its reputation night after night on the road rather than chasing trends. Their previous Spanish stops — including the Azkena Rock Festival in 2023 and an extensive 2024 tour — left a clear impression, and this time the band arrives with their most focused record yet.
Back to Life was shaped between two places: Todos Santos, Mexico, where the band writes and lives in a small creative community, and Nashville, where the songs are honed into their final form. The result is nine tracks that balance warm harmonies and loose-limbed grooves with a sense of real purpose. The album includes a standout collaboration with saxophonist Kamasi Washington on the track Wings, expanding the band’s sonic palette without losing sight of what makes them compelling. After ten years of touring, refining their craft and building their own world, Cordovas have made the record that feels like the truest version of themselves.
In May 2026, Cordovas will play six shows across Spain. May 12 brings them to Girona at Platea, followed by May 13 in Valencia at Loco Club, May 14 in Madrid at Sala Copérnico, May 15 in Zaragoza at Rock & Blues Café, May 16 in Avilés at Factoría Cultural, and May 17 in Bilbao at Kafe Antzokia. All dates feature support from Gavin Kattesh, a songwriter from Tennessee whose straightforward, emotionally direct compositions make for a fitting companion to the headline set.
