Paledusk Are Headlining Spain for the First Time — Japanese Metalcore at Its Most Unhinged
Paledusk have been to Spain before — they played Resurrection Fest in 2023 and returned in October 2025 as support for One Ok Rock. But May 2026 is a different proposition altogether. The Fukuoka quartet arrives in Barcelona and Madrid as headliners, debut full-length album in hand, fronting their own show for the first time on Spanish soil. For anyone who caught them in a support slot and wondered what they’d do with an entire stage to themselves, this is the answer.
The band has been active since 2014, steadily building a reputation as one of the most genre-defiant acts in the Japanese heavy scene. Metalcore is the starting point — but Paledusk fold in electronics, hardcore, hip-hop, J-pop and whatever else fits the moment, resulting in music that lurches between bone-crushing heaviness and unexpectedly infectious hooks within the span of a single track. November 26, 2025 finally brought their first full-length record, PALEDUSK: 12 songs that took a decade to accumulate into one cohesive statement. It features “HUGs” — the opening theme for the anime Gachiakuta — alongside “PALEHELL”, “RUMBLE feat. Masato from coldrain”, and several collaborations with Japanese hip-hop artists. Critics placed the album among the standout heavy releases of 2025, calling it a masterclass in creative chaos.
As part of Route Resurrection 2026, Paledusk will play two consecutive nights in Spain: May 13 at Razzmatazz 2 in Barcelona and May 14 at ReviLive in Madrid, both starting at 9:00 PM. Three support acts complete the lineup: Headwreck (Australia) open; Greyhaven (Kentucky, USA) bring their new EP Keep It Quiet; and Knosis — the project of former Crystal Lake vocalist Ryo — deliver a collision of deathcore, hardcore and industrial that sets the tone perfectly for what follows.
