Be Prog! My Friend Is Back in Barcelona for Its Eighth Edition
Be Prog! My Friend is the kind of progressive music festival that has earned its reputation the hard way: year after year, with a carefully curated lineup, an intimate tent venue that holds around 1,200 people, and an audience that shows up to listen. The eighth edition takes place September 25 and 26, 2026, at La Carpa in Poble Espanyol, Barcelona — the same setting that has hosted the festival since its return in 2024 after a six-year hiatus. Tickets sell fast, and this lineup gives little reason to wait.
The two headliners set the tone for an edition that leans into depth and ambition. Soen will present Reliance, their new studio album and one of the most anticipated releases in contemporary prog metal. The Swedish band’s blend of introspective songwriting and heavy, precisely constructed arrangements has made them one of the most consistently compelling acts in the genre. The Ocean arrive with a revamped lineup and unreleased material, fresh off one of the most prolific periods in their two-decade career. The Berlin collective has never stood still, and their Barcelona set promises to reflect wherever they’re heading next. Rounding out the bill: The Dear Hunter and their always-shifting conceptual rock universe, Icelandic art-proggers Agent Fresco, the solo project of Einar Solberg (Leprous), the majestic return of Green Carnation with A Dark Poem, Norwegian technical force Rendezvous Point, and Danish cosmic metallers Iotunn. Spanish acts After Lapse and Serapis represent the local scene.
The festival takes place at La Carpa, a covered tent within the Poble Espanyol open-air architectural museum on Montjuïc. Doors open at 15:00 on both days.
