Mägo de Oz Deny Rafa Blas and Ix Valieri’s Dismissal and Announce Disciplinary Measures

Spanish heavy metal band Mägo de Oz are once again at the center of controversy. The group has officially denied that vocalist Rafa Blas and guitarist Ix Valieri have been dismissed, while warning that disciplinary measures may follow.

In its statement, the band said both musicians perform their duties professionally on stage but expressed dissatisfaction with certain activities outside their concerts. The group has not yet publicly detailed what measures could be taken.

The controversy is linked to Blas and Valieri’s attendance at the premiere of the film “Fiesta Pagana” during a festival in Morelia, Mexico. The musicians attended the event alongside former Mägo de Oz vocalist José Andrëa. They are also associated with the ON project, which contributed to the creation of a song for the film.

Mägo de Oz founder Txus di Fellatio had previously stated that he had not been informed in advance about their trip or musical collaboration. This represents his account of the situation, while the band has not officially confirmed the departure of either musician.

Mägo de Oz assured fans that its scheduled concerts in Mexico and Latin America would go ahead with the current lineup. The band also announced that further explanations would follow.

The group is additionally scheduled to perform in Zaragoza on May 22, 2027, alongside Obús and Stratovarius.

For now, the future of Rafa Blas and Ix Valieri remains uncertain. Mägo de Oz’s official position is that neither musician has been dismissed, although the internal situation remains unresolved.
