New music releases on October 23, 2026: Amy Winehouse, My Chemical Romance and the day’s highlights
Friday, October 23, brings two particularly notable anniversary releases: Amy Winehouse and My Chemical Romance revisit two of their most iconic albums with new editions that expand on the original material. Back to Black (20th Anniversary Edition) brings together the album that defined Winehouse’s career with a selection of B-sides, demos and additional material, as well as the complete recording of her concert at Paradiso in Amsterdam on February 8, 2007. The release offers an opportunity to return to one of the British singer’s most important works and explore different moments from that period through songs associated with the album and recordings that had not previously been collected together in a complete edition. My Chemical Romance also celebrates the twentieth anniversary of The Black Parade with a deluxe edition featuring six additional tracks: three live recordings from their 2007 tour and three B-sides. Among the recovered songs is Someone Out There Loves You, also known as Stay, a track performed during that tour that had not received an official release. The reissue retains the original album and once again focuses on the story of The Patient, the character at the center of its conceptual narrative. These two releases offer an opportunity to revisit defining albums from their respective careers and discover additional material connected to their creation and live history.
The day’s music releases also include new works by John Legend and Michael Kiwanuka, two artists presenting projects with different approaches. Muse, Legend’s new album, features sixteen songs and is entirely produced by Pharrell Williams, with whom the singer is working again after more than twenty years of friendship. The project brings together influences from gospel, doo-wop, classic soul, Afrobeat and hip-hop, with Daylight among its key tracks. Meanwhile, Michael Kiwanuka releases Fudge, his fifth studio album, recorded in Southampton and Frome. The musician handled the album’s production himself and worked with Dom Monks and Rosie Danvers to complete the recordings. The project’s release had been delayed for almost a year due to the artist’s health issues. The day is also marked by From the Dark, the new album by Tony Iommi, released through BMG and accompanied by World Alone, a song featuring vocalist Jorn Lande. Together with the anniversary editions from Amy Winehouse and My Chemical Romance, these three new releases form a selection of albums of particular interest to those following new music and special editions.
