Bachata royalty and the youth idol share a stage in Pamplona
American artists Romeo Santos and Prince Royce will perform together for the first time in Pamplona as part of their European tour Mejor Tarde Que Nunca, presenting their joint album Better Late Than Never. It’s the first full-length record the two artists have made together, blending nostalgia for the genre’s roots with a fresh nod to where bachata is heading.
Romeo Santos, known as the “King of Bachata, ” has spent more than 30 years in music, starting out as the frontman of Aventura and taking the genre worldwide with anthems like Obsesión, Ella y Yo, and La Boda. Prince Royce, whose real name is Geoffrey Royce Rojas, rose to fame with his bachata cover of Stand By Me and has since blended romantic bachata with pop and R& B influences. The standout track from their joint project, Dardos, has racked up tens of millions of streams worldwide and pushed the duo to number one on Spanish charts.
