Most exciting upcoming album releases:
March 13, 2026
On March 13, the music industry is enriched with an impressive wave of new releases — from highly anticipated albums by well-known artists to fresh records from representatives of the alternative and heavy music scenes. Among the most notable releases of the week is “Into Oblivion” by Lamb Of God — the twelfth studio album by the American groove metal band, released through Century Media and Epic Records. The record was produced with longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur and continues the group’s tradition of aggressive, socially charged sound, becoming their first studio release since “Omens” in 2022. Another major highlight is “Trying Times” by British singer, songwriter and producer James Blake. It is his seventh studio album and the first one released via his own label Good Boy Records after leaving Republic Records. The album features collaborations with rapper Dave and vocalist Monica Martin, and thematically reflects on personal struggles and the pressures of modern life. Also drawing attention is “Paris In The Spring”, a solo project from Hot Chip member Alexis Taylor, recorded largely in Paris with contributions from musicians such as Étienne de Crécy and Green Gartside; the artist has described the album as an exploration of musical freedom beyond genre limitations.
In addition to these key releases, March 13 brings a wide range of albums across different genres. Among them are “Play Me” by Kim Gordon, continuing her experimental solo career following Sonic Youth, “A Pound Of Feathers” — the tenth studio album by rock band The Black Crowes, and “Lean In” by British artist Art School Girlfriend, the third album from musician and producer Polly Mackey. In the alternative and indie scene, notable releases include “Peace And Purpose” by Canadian collective Crack Cloud, “Transmitter” from New York project Cut Worms, and “Only You Left” by The Orielles. Other albums arriving the same day include Daniel Romano’s “Preservers Of The Pearl”, Chalk’s “Crystalpunk”, Brigitte Calls Me Baby’s “Irreversible”, Foy Vance’s “The Wake”, The Notwist’s “News From Planet Zombie”, Tinariwen’s “Hoggar”, Magnolia Park’s “Nights After Vamp”, UnityTX’s “Somewheren, In Between…” and many more. Altogether, this date has become one of the most eventful Fridays of March for new music, showcasing a broad spectrum of contemporary sounds — from experimental electronics and indie rock to metal and folk.
