Twisted Sister Cancel All 2026 Concerts: The Band’s Anniversary Tour Will Not Take Place
Legendary American heavy metal band Twisted Sister have officially canceled all concerts scheduled for 2026. The decision affects the band’s long-planned anniversary performances celebrating the 50th anniversary of the group, which were expected to mark their first full return to the stage since the farewell tour in 2016.
The cancellation has been confirmed by the band members themselves and by promoters. The main reason is the health condition of frontman and vocalist Dee Snider, who has decided to step away from touring due to medical concerns.
Originally, Twisted Sister planned to launch the anniversary concert run in the spring of 2026. The first announced show was set for April 25 in São Paulo, followed by festival appearances and selected headline dates across Europe, South America, and North America. All of these plans have now been officially scrapped.
In a joint statement, guitarists Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda explained that Dee Snider’s sudden and unavoidable decision to withdraw from the tour made it impossible to move forward with the concerts. The musicians emphasized that Twisted Sister do not consider performing without their frontman, which is why the cancellation applies to every previously announced date.
Dee Snider himself addressed the situation in a personal message, confirming that his decision is based solely on health issues. The singer has been dealing with degenerative arthritis for many years and has undergone several surgeries in recent years. Despite this, he continued to perform, but recent medical evaluations indicated that further touring could pose a serious risk. According to Snider, he is unwilling to take the stage unless he can perform at a level that meets his own standards and the expectations of the fans.
The cancellation of the anniversary tour came as a surprise to many fans. In the fall of 2025, Twisted Sister officially announced their return to the stage and confirmed plans for a limited world tour to mark their 50th anniversary. At the time, the band stressed that this was not a permanent reunion but a series of special performances, which are now no longer possible.
At this point, the future of Twisted Sister remains uncertain. The band has stated that further decisions will be made at a later date after reassessing the situation and the frontman’s health. No new concert dates or alternative performance formats have been announced.
The cancellation of all Twisted Sister concerts in 2026 officially closes the chapter on the anniversary tour and casts doubt on any stage activity by the band in the near future.
