Lost in Kyiv and Årabrot: A Powerful Encounter Between Atmospheric and Experimental Rock
French post-rock and post-metal band Lost in Kyiv will join forces with Norwegian experimental rock outfit Årabrot for a three-date Spanish tour, bringing together two distinctive approaches to contemporary alternative music. Combining cinematic soundscapes, raw intensity and unconventional arrangements, the two bands offer contrasting perspectives on the evolving boundaries of rock.
Lost in Kyiv return to the stage to present We’re All Going to Be Fine, their fifth studio album, released through Pelagic Records. The record marks a new chapter for the French quartet, which has officially adopted the name Lost in Kyiv and developed a more direct, forceful sound. Building on their cinematic post-rock foundations, the band incorporates the weight and intensity of post-metal into compositions that explore the fragility of human existence, the tension between hope and collapse, and the growing sense of disconnection in modern life. The result reflects a band confronting these themes head-on through emotionally charged and expansive music.
Årabrot bring a different kind of intensity to the bill. Led by Kjetil Nernes, the Norwegian band has been developing its distinctive identity since emerging from the country’s underground scene in 2001. Nernes’s life-threatening illness in 2014 became a turning point that profoundly influenced both his artistic outlook and the group’s creative direction. Since then, Årabrot have continued to explore the territory between noise rock, post-punk and experimental music, incorporating a strong spiritual dimension into their work. In 2026, the band is set to enter a new creative phase with an album released through Mute Publishing.
The Spanish leg of the tour will visit three cities. On December 8, 2026, the bands will perform at Razzmatazz 3 in Barcelona. On December 9, they will take the stage at Silikona in Madrid, before concluding the Spanish run on December 10 at Groove in Portugalete, in the province of Biscay.
Bringing together Lost in Kyiv’s cinematic arrangements and Årabrot’s uncompromising experimental edge, these shows offer an opportunity to experience two distinctive bands sharing the same stage. The tour highlights the diversity of contemporary European alternative rock, where atmosphere, sonic exploration and emotional intensity meet without being confined to a single genre.
