Paul Di’Anno’s Final Voice: Live Album Recorded Shortly Before His Death to Be Released
In 2026, the final live album by Paul Di’Anno, the iconic vocalist and original frontman of Iron Maiden, will be released. The recording was made less than two months before his death and became one of the last live performances of the musician, who left a significant mark on the history of heavy metal.
The material for the release was recorded in August 2024 at the Stonedead Festival in Newark-on-Trent, UK. Despite serious health issues, Paul Di’Anno continued to perform actively and took the stage in front of large audiences. This particular show formed the basis of the upcoming album, which is already being described as an important document of the late period of his career.
The release was originally planned as a vinyl-only edition, but due to strong fan interest, it was decided to additionally issue a limited CD run. All proceeds from the album sales will be transferred to the musician’s official heir, a point specifically emphasized by the project’s representatives. The album title, artwork, and record label will be announced closer to the release date.
At the same time, work continues on the documentary film “Di’Anno: Iron Maiden’s Lost Singer”, dedicated to the life and career of the vocalist. The film is directed by Wes Orshoski, known for documentaries about Motörhead and The Damned. The project has been in development since 2017 and received additional footage during the final years of Di’Anno’s life. The book The Last Days Of The Beast, concluding the biographical series about the musician, is also being prepared for release.
Paul Di’Anno, born Paul Andrews, passed away on October 21, 2024, at the age of 66, at his home in Salisbury. According to the official medical report, the cause of death was an acute cardiovascular complication. A farewell ceremony was held in November at the City of London Cemetery.
Di’Anno’s name is forever linked to the early history of Iron Maiden — he performed vocals on the band’s debut album Iron Maiden (1980) and its follow-up Killers (1981). After leaving the group, the singer continued his career with various projects, including Battlezone, Killers, and solo releases. Even in his final years, while using a wheelchair, he played dozens of concerts and remained devoted to the stage until the end.
The release of Paul Di’Anno’s final live album will be not just a gift for fans, but the closing chapter in the story of one of the most recognizable and controversial voices in British heavy metal.
